In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month, I’m sharing from our 100 Words Project every day.
Months of worry. Will he be smart? Will he love me? So many “Will he?” questions. A long birth. He cries and I answer. Am I holding him right? Are people judging me? My hands don’t know what to do. HE does. Before I know what is happening he is nursing. I blink and realize I have a strong hungry boy. Even before I ever asked him to he was taking as much care of me as I was for him. “Don’t worry Mom. I’ve got this.” It is not always as difficult as they say. Sometimes everything just…..clicks.
