In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month, I’m sharing from our 100 Words Project every day.
My son was a NICU baby who had a rough start, so exclusive pumping was required. My daughter was born healthy, full term. I thought I would have it easier with her, but by the end of week one, with severe nipple trauma and a baby losing weight I was losing hope. Thanks to a wonderful online community of local breastfeeders, my suspicion was confirmed that my baby was tongue and lip tied. Soon after, we flew 1700 miles to have both revised. Immediate improvement! Eight months later, going strong with no plans to stop until she says so!
