In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month, I’m sharing from our 100 Words Project every day.
A story from Thea:
The moment I met her, I fell madly in love. The first time I fed her from my breast, I was elated by the feeling of connectedness, of contentment, and of caring like never before. Then came day 3; we were both crying from pain, discomfort and frustration. But that day passed. Now, nine months later, the pain has subsided and our bond has deepened. Everyday I am reminded of that love at first sight when I hold her to my breast. What a wonderful way to nourish a baby. What a fantastic way to feed both our souls.
